This strip of sands shares with the Praia do Bexiga Beach one of the best places for diving on the entire coastline.

A beach with the surf close to the shore, Praia Grande is located at the southern end of the island, about 13 km from the Village of Ilhabela and close to the Praia do Curral.

From its shore one has a magnificent view of the São Sebastião Channel, main port of entry for the crude oil brought by supertankers and consumed in Brazil.
