| The Pontal da Cruz (Landpoint of the Cross) has a broad and flat
beach sparsely used for swimming, and is one of the most populated areas of São Sebastião, holding mainly
local residents.
The area has a fair infrastructure, with schools, hotels and a small
commercial center and several nautical garages and service centers.
The place holds a legend about a cross and an apricot-tree that exist on the
rocks that separates the place from the Praia Deserta beach. It's a tragic lovestory that happened many years
ago between a local girl and a young man from Ilhabela. |
