Starting at the
right corner of Itaguá
beach, a small sinewy unpaved road bordering the sea leads to
this place that is a part of Ubatuba's history.
From there, most of the merchandises coming from the Vale do
Paraíba and from the North of the State of Minas Gerais were
shipped, being carried down the mountains on the backs of
donkeys.
At the beginning of this century, a railway project linking
the pier to the Vale do Paraíba caused quite a commotion but
was terminated by political reasons.
Great place to angle and dive. From there one has a complete
view of the bay of Ubatuba as well as of the Itaguá,
Cruzeiro and Prainha
do Matarazzo beaches. |
